Pete has always impressed upon me to wait for that perfect moment when Mother Nature reveals herself – and that’s exactly what I did. After five days of exploring this location, I finally found what I was searching for. All the critical, earthly elements I needed lined up perfectly for this shot – the colors were vibrant, the air was still, and a layer of mist added incredible dimension and depth. Standing alone in this primitive forest was like stepping back into prehistoric times. It is a moment I will never forget, experiencing total silence and the smell of the fall foliage. Seconds later, the mist vanished and the shot was gone. I was grateful to witness and capture this Ancient Forest.
